The scar on Skye’s knee is shaped like a smile
Narrative
About to embark on a world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the growing horrors and pressures of fame, Skye is forced to confront her past. In one scene, Skye places a bottle of VOSS water on a stone/marble kitchen counter and there is a noise that matches the sound of something plastic being placed down.

The VOSS water bottles are made of glass, something that is actually specifically pointed out in the film, and thus the sound doesn’t match the action seen. Skye Riley: [smiles at entity] You’re not in control, I’m in control!. Well, Smile 2 certainly lives up to Naomi Scott’s performance as Skye Reily.
This gets a bit frustrating as it is repetitive throughout the film
This role should get her a lot of attention and hopefully land her other lead roles. It definitely deserves an award, but let’s face it, it’s a horror movie, so it’s unlikely to happen. The movie itself only gives vague answers and a lot of guesswork about what is real and what Skye is hallucinating.
This is getting a bit ridiculous
And then, what about the number of times Vossi water appears?! Maybe I’m missing something and drinking water is more of a plot point than what we’re given about dehydration. However, there’s a lot to admire about this sequel, and it’s not just a rehash of the first film.
Hopefully a few more things will be revealed
There are some scary moments and an ambiguous ending that calls for a third part. Leaving things up to the imagination is fine, but so is great storytelling where the writers don’t just use it as an excuse to not find answers. This would be an average six star movie, but Naomi Scott is a star, so she gets a 7.
