Now, to set the stage for my review, I’m not a fan of Saturday Night Live, but I don’t hate the show either. I’ve seen clips of this show on YouTube, there were stars who went on to great success in their careers, and I only watched one episode, and it was hosted by Sidney Sweeney. Otherwise, this show never caught my attention, and I’m not particularly into sketch comedy. However, when I heard that Jason Reitman was making a movie based on what happened before the show, I naturally decided to give it a try and enjoyed Saturday Night (2024). Positive sides of “Saturday Night” (2024):
This film was a chaotic roller coaster from start to finish. This movie is so fast paced that you have to pay attention, and for the most part it worked. The actors do a fantastic job portraying these seventies people, and although it was a little strange to see some of them portraying certain people from the show, they all do a great job in their roles. The comedy in this movie is very funny and some of the scenes made me laugh out loud. And finally, the film does an excellent job of creating chaos. Cons of “Saturday Night” (2024):
The film is too chaotic for me. There are certain conflicts that seem to have been resolved in a hurry without giving them proper structure. And, finally, the film is so dynamic that sometimes I can’t keep up with it. Overall, Saturday Night Live (2024) is an engaging spectacle from start to finish, and if you’re a fan of the series, I highly recommend this film.
